163 Homeless Children Housed in 2009

Bridge Communities housed and served 163 DuPage homeless children from 103 families through our Transitional Housing Program.  A home is just the beginning of what Bridge provides when a homeless family walks through our door.  Beyond the safety and stability that a home provides, Bridge strives to help each family achieve long-term self sufficiency.

Bridge Builders

Founded in 2002 by local residents that take a hands-on approach to enhancing the lives of Bridge Communities' client families, particularly the lives of the children in the Transitional Housing program.  The Bridge Builders host family focused activities and fund-raising events to raise funds for the Auto Donation program, college scholarships, extra-curricular children's activities and women's programs.

A Year in Review

Bridge Communities has helped nearly 425 families cross the bridge from homlessness to self sufficiency and permanent housing.  In 1999, Bridge began to survey client families one-year after they exited the two-year Transitional Housing program.  133 former client families, who have successfully completed the Program, have replied to the self-reporting survey.
